Wood posts driven in a fence line in Central Oregon near Sisters Oregon

Every post that is able to be driven is. Driven Posts compress the soil, giving it stronger holding power and less labor which offers a cost savings for the client. Most companies do not have the equipment to drive posts and rely on drilling and setting each post, often using cement improperly leading to a shortened life span for the post and lowering the structural integrity of the fence in the meantime.

No Hard Stapling

Angled Rance Brace

Professional fence installer tying a termination knot around a fence post in Central Oregon

We hand tie each wire around the end posts with termination knots. Hard stapling, commonly seen in agricultural fences, causes the post to twist over time, resulting in loose mesh. By looping the wire completely around the post and orienting the knot in the centrline of the end post we are able to prevent any twisting and allow for the tightest stretch possible.

Angled Rance Brace

Rance brace professionally installed in Central Oregon by fencing contractor Mountain M Fencing

An angled Rance Brace lowers the chance of foot entrapment for livestock and has better holding power than a traditional H brace. The angled strut is mortised into the end post for a long lasting water tight joint between the brace and the post. this is the traditional style of brace used in England and New Zealand by master fence builders. In testing this style of brace has far outperformed other styles of fence braces.

Breast plate to support fence post and prevent movement resulting in a very stable straight fence

Much of the structure that keeps your fence tight is done beneath the soil where the client rarely sees it, but these structures are crucial for the life of your fence. These include fully driven posts to support Rance braces, foots to hold posts and mesh down where change of elevation causes up lift, and breast plates to prevent turn posts from being pulled out of line with direction changes.

High Tensile Wire

High tensile non climb mesh professionally installed in top rail fence in Central Oregon

High Tensile wire offers a 2% stretch rate,  while traditional low carbon wire has a stretch rate of 15% after tightening. This means that after a low carbon fence is installed and subjected to freeze and thaw cycles throughout the year it will stretch another 15% putting a sag in your fence. This in addition to the much higher breaking strength and the far superior galvanization is why we only install High Tensile wire; it just does the job better, a lot better.

SS40 pipe is a high tensile schedule 40 galvanized pipe. While we do install plenty of beautiful wood post fences in Central Oregon,  we believe in the durability and strength of SS40 pipe and believe it is the best long term value for our clients. This style of fencing is fire resistant and will likely outlive the professionals that install it.
